College Principal Fatally Shot at Family Function: In a tragic turn of events, a college principal met his untimely demise during a family celebration in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred in the Chhapia police station area, shocking the local community.
A college principal was fatally shot at a family function.
According to Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal, the victim, identified as Dinesh Yadav, had traveled to Gonda to participate in a joyful occasion at the residence of his relative and college manager, Agnaram Yadav. The principal, who served at a private intercollegiate college in Sishani, had just concluded the ‘jaimaal’ ceremony and was resting at a verandah outside the village late Sunday night.
Tragically, Yadav’s peaceful rest was disrupted when two individuals from Sishani village, Ajay Verma and Raj Singh, approached him. A recent personal dispute escalated into a fatal confrontation as they brandished a pistol, ultimately shooting Yadav in the temple.

The commotion alerted nearby sleepers, prompting them to apprehend one of the assailants, while the other fled the scene. Despite immediate efforts to seek medical aid, Yadav succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the community health center in Basti district.
Law enforcement swiftly initiated action, registering a case against both perpetrators. While one suspect is in custody, intensive efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining fugitive.
As the investigation progresses, authorities have ensured the tranquility of the village by deploying additional police personnel as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been dispatched for post-mortem examination.
This tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the consequences of unresolved conflicts, leaving the community in mourning and demanding justice for the departed principal.
